To the tune of Twinkle Twinkle, Little Star comes Twinkle Twinkle Hanukkah. This charming lyrical picture book celebrates the history of Hanukkah while engaging little ones in a fun sing-song read aloud.
I sang it to my niece on the first night and she was humming along by the third page. Setting the Hanukkah story to the Twinkle Twinkle melody was such a clever idea, it made the whole candle-lighting history click for her.
My two-year-old already knew the tune, so she was singing along by the second page. The lyrical text actually walks through the Hanukkah story instead of just being cute filler, which I appreciated. It's become our go-to bedtime book all eight nights.
My 3-year-old asks for this every night now and sings along to Twinkle Twinkle while I turn the pages. The rhyming text actually teaches the Hanukkah story without feeling like a lesson, which surprised me.
